From motifs embedded in the folds of fabric to how the tapestry is draped over it, such seemingly minor aesthetic nuances make luxury more proper. Textile gourmand Sarita Handa comprehended this truth 25 years ago when she started her eponymous label. As she introduces her fourth home design and decor keep in Defence Colony, she holds onto the equal design ideas that have helped her launch an emblem, now a fabric haven.
Handa took many creative leaps in the previous couple of years to comply with the evolving preferences of the cutting-edge-day globetrotter. Adapting to tendencies has worked for her gain and has kept the label’s signature needlework identity intact.
The series in all her stores is an amalgamation of cross-border, geo-cultural aesthetics as it indicates the evolution and the enrichment of collective perceptions. As she takes us on a walk through the new shop, the handmade South and Southwest Indian antiques stand out. These authentic chariot panels and ceremonial masks have now become single décor portions. “The textile gourmet stimulates the designs, patterns, colors, and surface embroideries of our contemporary, signature soft items series by employing a mix of world design trends and craft cultures of indigenous groups,” says the textile gourmet.
The customizable platform bed and bedspreads providing Italian Trapunto quilting are indispensable in-house merchandise. “We’ve brought portrait and summary artwork, current furnishings, and inflorescence of succulents as refreshing day-by-day décor alternatives. There’s desk-bound, the result of a nature-stimulated collaboration with young dressmaker Akanksha Sharma, and the first Sarita Handa Jewellery show of day-to-night separates in gold and gold-plated, silver, and precious or semi-valuable stones,” says Handa.
