The St. Augustine Art Association will host the 3rd Annual St. Augustine Plein Air Paint Out April 23–May 1 in historic downtown St. Augustine. The occasion draws great artists from around the country to seize the nation’s oldest town’s ancient, architectural, and coastal splendor. Artists can sign in now via April sixteen online at staaa.Org/pleinair. Several events are planned for the citywide accumulating.
A QuickDraw fast portrays contest can be from 2 to 5 p.m. on April 28 in the Lightner Museum Gardens. The public is invited to satisfy the artists and spot their paintings coming into existence on the easel. Field Demos by well-known Plein air artists are scheduled on April 26 at the Castillo de San Marcos, St. Augustine Lighthouse, Flagler College, and other websites.
Nocturne Night in Olde Town, on April 30, capabilities artists portray at sundown along the Bayfront and ancient Aviles and Charlotte streets. During the Paint Out, art in development can be considered and purchased inside the St. Augustine Art Association “Wet Room.”
Finished paintings may be showcased in the juried exhibition, “Where Art Meets History,” May 3–26 at the St. Augustine Art Association, 22 Marine St.
“Plein air portray has a wealthy record in St. Augustine,” said Elyse Brady, Art Association’s Art Association’s Executive Director. “Our captivating streets, coastal setting, and amazing structure have stimulated artists for centuries, and we’re excited to carry on the subculture.”
The National Endowment for the Arts decided on the St. Augustine Art Association to hold a $10,000 grant for the third Annual St. Augustine Plein Air Paint Out as it promotes community engagement through artwork. Beginners and pro artists can take part. PleinAir Magazine is also a countrywide sponsor.
The Application charge is $59 and includes artist packets, maps, demos, a QuickDraw Contest, social events, and eligibility for the juried exhibition. Exhibit awards exceed $2,500, including a $1,000 pinnacle prize and PleinAir Magazine artist feature advert. Volunteers and Field Ambassadors are also wanted.
