Kerrie Kelly has a successful career as an indoor designer. Her trademarked motto, “Everyone Deserves Good Design,” has properly served her professional development and business, Kerrie Kelly Design Lab. In addition to creating “real” areas for her design clients, Kelly has written books Home Décor: A Sunset Design Guide and My Interior Design Kit. She is concerned with numerous industry organizations—ASID, Houzz Pro Advisory Board, National Kitchen, and Bath Association—and they are one of our Furniture, Lighting, and decor editorial advisors.
Kelly has also been named one of the Top 200 Design Influencers in the Home Design Industry by fixr.Com, and she is the Interior Design National Spokesperson for Zillow, Inc. In addition to her design organization affiliations, the gifted Kelly has more than one brand connection, having launched product traces with TileBar, Feizy Rugs, Zeev Lighting, and GO Home Ltd. That’s pretty the resume.
The indoor layout network has been true to Kelly, she says. At one point, she had 12 employees centered on residential and commercial design work. However, like the evolving nature of the design enterprise, she is adapting her commercial enterprise model to help other designers and industry gamers elevate their brands.
“We’re seeing how human beings embody era,” she says, including that it has allowed her to structure a smaller team and “do what we adore inside the industry.”
She loves supporting businesses to market themselves correctly in the layout industry, including developing content for clients and helping them with social media campaigns. “There are products out there that designers want to know about,” she notes.
That’s not to say Kelly is accomplished at designing. She continues to hone her craft and stay current with today’s developments and possibilities. “The beauty of our enterprise proper now could be that it’s not cookie-cutter,” she says. “We do lots more of what we love to do and get to shape our very own careers. It may be truely thrilling and fun.”
The Power of Community
When Kerrie Kelly followed her dream to become an interior dressmaker, she quickly realized the importance of network and schooling. She joined the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) as a student. “ASID has helped me develop in the industry,” she says. “It’s expanded what I’ve done in interior layout. It has helped me develop, and relationships at a country-wide degree have complemented my career.”
As a member, Kelly has arisen through the company’s ranks—sitting on diverse committees, as a spokesperson, and as a neighborhood chapter president—supporting other designers alongside the manner. She’s a Fellow, the Foundation Trustee, and a Board member at a time while ASID is operating on progressive ways to assist the evolving indoor design enterprise. “We’ve taken a look at the shape of the design itself. It has grown to be an international subject matter, and we want to peer how this company supports that global concept,” Kelly provides. “Just while you assume you realize what to do, the enterprise adjustments. Designers want to get the right of entry to and education,” something ASID offers.
Founded in 1975, the American Society of Interior Designers is the oldest and biggest organization, and it believes that design can affect lives. With 13,500 indoor fashion designer contributors, 6,000 industry companions, five 500 student participants, and 350 chapters, ASID affects lives as nicely.
The corporation aims to apply education, knowledge sharing, advocacy, network construction, and outreach to enhance the indoor design career.
