On Tuesday, a local production agency fished a brand new roof on an older Albany home. S & S Roofing and Construction is a nearby Albany roofing enterprise offering offerings encompassing domestic construction and interior work. General Manager Curtis Stanfield said his team got here to work on a big assignment. “Our installers are out right here; we were given a few carpenters out right here performing some carpentry paintings nowadays,” said Stanfield. But S & S desired to locate extra ways to offer returns. Doug Ellis, a veteran dwelling in Ocala, Florida, will soon be moving into that residence with a modern-day roof donated by S & S Roofing and Construction. “I’m still in shock, to be sincere with you,” said Ellis. Purple Hearts Homes are operating with Owens Corning Platinum Contractors as a part of a roof deployment mission. Due to age, this domestic in Albany was decided on for a new roof. Ellis stated Purple Hearts Homes is doing lots more than giving them a new roof and paying off half of the mortgage. “We pay half the loan of the cost of the assets is ours, and the second one 1/2 of the mortgage falls off,” said Ellis. Stanfield said this is well worth his group’s time and hard work. “Veterans, you realize, it’s usually unique as a way to deliver returned to them, but while you’re doing something to improve your private home and their life, it is unique, so we love, we experience that,” said Stanfield. “It just makes us experience higher as an organization.” Ellis served tours in Iraq and was medically discharged in 2013. He said he could not wait to transport himself into his new home and city with a fresh start.
